Building Your Beading Tool Collection

If you believe that beading is something that you are interested in enough to make it a full time profession or hobby, then you need to build a beading tool collection. Beading may seem quite easy, but this is usually a false notion. It is the very skilled beading crafters that make it look easy.

What do you need to have in your beading tool collection so that you will have everything that you need? Well, for one thing, you need beads! Buying beads ahead of time, before you’ve even decided on certain designs or projects, may seem like putting the cart before the horse, but there is another way to look at it. Designers often get inspiration from the materials around them. If you are at the craft store or bead store and you see some beads that really catch your interest, buy them. After you take them home and look at them for a while, you’ll probably start forming an image in your head about how you want to use them.

You’ll also need beading needles – several different sizes and types – a beading loom, and lots of beading wire. Although you don’t always need beading wire for every beading project, you’ll definitely need it for some of them. Your beading tool collection needs to be complete so that you will have everything you need when inspiration strikes you.
